There was good weather and strong wind at Zuera on Sunday morning for the two Prefinals in the OK-Junior European Championship. Noah Watt (Tony Kart / Vortex) had escaped early in Prefinal 1, but Isac Blomqvist (Tony Kart / Vortex) was able to join him and deny him the lead. Watt, however, reacted and won the race. Ivan Shvetsov (Tony Kart / Vortex) emerged from the chasing group to ensure his 3rd position ahead of Charles Milesi (Tony Kart / Vortex) who fought hard to finish 4th in front of Pavel Bulantsev (Tony Kart / Vortex). Dennis Hauger (CRG / Parilla), with the best time, yielded 6th position to Mizzudin Musyaffa (DR / TM) returning from 17th place on the grid. There was a great recovery of 10 places for Ulysses De Pauw (Birel ART / Parilla) in 9th, and Pierre-Louis Chovet (CRG / Parilla) managed to qualify in 13th place, Theo Pourchaire (Kosmic / Vortex) 15th, and Milane Petelet (Praga / Parilla ) 17th ahead of Thomas Mialane (Energy / TM) who missed out on his goal. Tucked up in the top 10, Adam Eteki (Tony Kart / Vortex) dropped back at the end along with Rasmus Lindh (Ricciardo / Parilla).
Prefinal 2 was marked by the engine problems encountered by the leader Sami Taoufik (FA Kart / Vortex) from the second lap that forced him to retire three laps later. Caio Collet (Birel ART / Parilla) took over the controls, but Fin Kenneally (FA Kart / Vortex) and Timothy Peisselon (FA Kart / Vortex) quickly attacked. Esteban Muth (CRG / Parilla) joined the leading group in 4th position ahead of Mikhail Simonov (Tony Kart / Vortex). Victor Martins (Kosmic / Parilla) moved up six places to finish 9th, Gillian Henrion (Kosmic / Vortex) secured his 12th position with the fastest lap against Giuseppe Fusco (Lenzo / LKE) who rebounded 16 places. Despite their efforts, Franck Chappard (Kosmic / Vortex) and William Bertrand (Tony Kart / Vortex) failed to qualify.
